Important concepts
Communication can be analysed as a process: a sender encodes a message, chooses a channel, and receives feedback from an audience, with noise or barriers affecting meaning. Compare verbal and non-verbal cues, one-to-one and group settings, classroom interaction and mass communication. Models highlight different parts of this process; media theories ask how messages and audiences relate. In questions on barriers or effectiveness, identify where meaning breaks down and whether feedback, context, language or channel choice can repair it. Digital media add reach and speed, but not automatic understanding.
